Yes stock shocks. Feels like a stock ride. A little more flat in corners. The speed through corners went up quite a bit thanks to the lower center.
I can't wait for my 19s to show up next year, the wheel wells will be filled right up |

Thanks, sorry for the crappy pictures. I was supposed to bring my actual camera to the dealer when I dropped it off. Guess my brain was off at 6:30AM.

Looking good Twix! Also see you got the top strip and reflector portion of the headlights, as well as the side repeaters on the mirrors tinted.....makes such a difference in my mind
When are you getting the winters put on? |

I gotta buy a set first. Probably going to do that today if I can afford it haha. I've spent way too much money in the past month or so

Looks great. Did the dealer give a hard time about compromising the warranty if other suspension parts fail? Also if you don't mind me asking but what was the ballpark amount they charged for labor and was a wheel alignment done as well?

Sorry for my dumb question, but why get an X1 and then lower it? Isn't the whole idea of the X1 that it's higher up? Otherwise isn't it just like getting a 4-door hatchback instead of an SUV? It would seem to me if you wanted a lower vehicle that something like an Audi A3 or VW GTI would be more appropriate, or even a 3 or 1 series.

If I wanted to be higher up, I woulda bought an F-350 and lifted it. The X1 is neither tall enough to be a real SUV nor low enough to be a wagon. Also, the A3 is over priced and well, garbage. The VW is the same thing as the A3 really. Plus, no AWD makes for difficult driving on mountain roads.
As for not buying a 1er or a 3er, well I need 4 seats. That crosses the 1er off the list, and the new 3er feels big and sloppy. The X1 fit what I needed and wanted well without breaking the bank. The dealer is 100% behind the install of the springs, hence why I went that route as opposed to a cheaper alternative of doing it through an independent shop. Everything is covered through the dealer. If I break a spring, they call ACS and have them send a new one. All said and done it was about $1800 CDN including parts and labour. Of course they did an alignment after, surprising to me, the before number (after spring install) showed that really only the toe was affected. Still needed to be done though. I find my dealer really easy going about aftermarket parts on cars. There's a lot of modded bimmers here that go through the service department. They're also a Dinan dealer, so they must like making their cars go fast.

I'll PM you my phone number and you can give me a text so we can hook up at some point. I'm at home now, but am going into work for a few hours and then heading off to get winters fitted to the truck, but we should be able to figure out a meet up time before you head back to the Mac for your next stint.
I'm down in the SW part of town by the way, for reference. |
