Giving gf to drive = cost of repairs
...
So I was drinking and I thought for once that I'll be a smart mature guy and give my X1 to a not so drunk gf. After 5 minutes of her driving we were parked on the side of the road and talking to the owner of the car we just crashed into. It wasn't too bad though. Well what she did was that she wanted to switch lanes and she switched the lane while looking straight *ucking forward. So we rammed with our front right side (as we were going to the right lane obviously) of the car into a nice Renault Clio Sport that was parallel to us. Total damage to the guys car that I paid was about $900 for the paint job. But the guy was good enough not to call police as we had almost no documents as well and she was drinking. Anyway let this stand as a warning. If everyone else is drunk, you might as well drive it yourself. |

I let my wife take my last brand new (24 hours old) car out on her own, she reversed it into a wall by the house and forgot to tell me. When we took it into the garage for repair they where kind enough to lend us a car for a week and she punctured both near side tyres and did mega damage to the wheels. There is a lesson in this thread for everyone with a new car...

God, they don't even have to be driving it. I've been working in a different city to where I live and my partner had the job to pack the car before a weekend away so we could get a quick start.
Only problem is that the car is a tight fit in the garage and there's less than a cm of clearance when the boot is up and the bottom of the roller part of the garage door. Of course, if you have the roller door open, the rolled bit is bigger so it touches the car door when open so you need to physically hold the door down so it doesn't scratch. So, she has the boot open and decides to open the garage door which starts to scrape the boot door as it gets near the end of opening. At least she told me and then stood right back as I exploded. Had it for five minutes and scratches already. They'll probably buff out but I'm still fuming over it. |
