2014 X3 wheels with ET 46 to go on 2014 X1

Hi guys,

got these X3 wheels R18 ET46 I'd like to put on the 2014 X1 I have, it's Xdrive and im getting front suspension strut contact with the big tires the x3 wheels came with (235 50 R18)

Can someone advise, the new wheels are 8J ET46 and 18'', if I install these new tires i just bought that are 225, 45 R18 to the rims will the difference mitigate the strut contact - does anyone have experience with max width/ET of other wheels before i have to get a spacer? thanks team.
