E84 parasytic draw - please help
Hey,
I'm having an issue with a parasytic draw on my battery. I replaced the battery a few months back. Last week I started having electrical issues. I would come out in the morning and hear audible clicking from the passenger side footwell behind the glovebox. Maybe a relay clicking on the fuse box. The car battery showed 7.8 volts in it. I charged up the battery and it was holding its charge at about 12.6 volts I put the battery back in the car and took it for a drive, the car went into limp mode and threw numerous codes including: - A0B3 Starter motor, terminal 50 - A0B4 Engine start, starter operation - 387E Power management battery, exhaustive battery charge - 2De3 Valvetronic servomotor activation, volt phase line disconnection - 36FD DME main relay, implausible, open - 3044 knock sensor 2, electrical signal input A, short circuit to ground - 2C58 Charging pressure control deactivation, pressure build up blocked - CF20 EGS, No message from CAS - CF2B Multiple fault message 2 (medium seriousness) for (EGS, EL, PT-CAN) from (DSC, Modul, PT-CAN) - CF2C Multiple fault message 3, (low level seriousness) for (EGS, EL, PT-CAN) from (DSC, Modul, PT-CAN) - 5DCF Control module, under voltage I thought it may be the alternator was shot and causing the battery drain, so I unhooked the positive cable on the alternator and let it sit overnight to see if the voltage went down. It went from 12.1 to 9.1 volts. So there was still a parasytic draw on the battery overnight with the alternator unhooked. Curious if there are any suggestions here? thank you. |

When you installed the new battery, did you register it with Bimmercode or similar? I’m relatively new to the E84 platform but read that this can cause electrical issues if you don’t. But not sure if those issues are consistent with what you’re experiencing.

I can't remember if I did or not at the time. I believe so, I have the code reader.
I charged up the battery and registered it to the DME just to be sure. The issues persist. |
