Bimmerpost App gone from Google Play Store

I was having issues in app with a couple things like accessing subscribed to threads and liking other's posts and went to uninstall and reinstall the app. Turns out it's no longer in the Google Play Store for me. Anyone else having this issue?

I use the site in my browser, works fine.

If you have the samsung internet browser it has a really nice magnify buttons feature that let's you use the small ui easily.

I use chrome but I realize not everyone has good enough eyes to read the small text.

I too use the browser (iPad & iPhone). Didn’t know there was an app.

The app on iOS has been broken since yesterday. Which is why the traffic on the site has been down. A lot of people don’t seem to want to bother with the mobile page.

Our app was quite heavily used by android over the years. Unfortunately Google made some policy changes that are impossible for me as a solo app developer to meet. I don't blame them since I understand why they made those changes, especially as I'm guessing there are some many junk AI generated apps probably flooding them now.

Regardless we are where we are and it was removed from the app store. I'm hoping in the future there is another policy change to the old way. Maybe not. Innthe mean time a few have suggested side loading, which I'm still exploring right now.

Basically I can host the app with a link here which you would install manually. The app is actually still being updated so I have a newer android version running right now. I just want to make sure it's all done safe and securely since I question how many ppl will know how to install an app directly from a link from our site. To be seen. Otherwise newest version of the app is ready to go today..

Sideload works for me... hopefully Google won't start restricting that option in Android.

What you see by default using a mobile device is the mobile version of a site if it's available (those shitty smart asses consider your context to ruin your experience by making unauthorized decisions for you ). Yes, the mobile version looks "small" , but if you do turn to the desktop version of the site by choosing the setting in the browser's menu you can magnify it as usual, spreading your fingers .

Do you have a copy of the APK, or know of a source?

That's not cool.

I mostly used the Android App to read the forum, it is not as fast and convenient using the mobile site on the smart phone.

I hope they can set it up again soon.

if you still have your old phone, here is how I managed to get the .APK

- search on play store for: "app APK extractor"
- the one by Domilopment worked great
- extract the APK, upload, and download/install on your new phone

I uninstalled Bimmerpost app 0n my Android earlier today due to Images not showing. When I tried to search for it on Play Store, it's gone?
Where and how to get it again?

I'm going to try the apk method above. Losing that app is brutal. Much less convenient visiting the forum.

Any chance of getting this on fdroid or github for obtanium? The website is great on a mobile device... until i need to upload a picture. Then it looks like this.

Any updates? Would hate to lose access to the site through the app, and I dislike installing "ripped" APKs. Hosting it on some kind of third party app store would be great, although I'm worried about what that means when Google implements their new strict APK installation policy.

Is there anything anyone can do to help to pass the requirements for play store? I'm a SWE by trade, please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Back again. Would be great if someone had access to the APK. I'm tired of using the desktop version. The web version lacks the ability for me to like posts.
