Clicking after door closes

2012 M6 convertible- Door and window (soft close option) seem to work and close just fine but today it started making a loud clicking noise coming from inside the drivers door for about 2 seconds after I close the door. Everything seems to operate normally except for this new "noise". Any ideas?

Your door lock actuator. Most likely the noise is from the plastic gears inside either the soft close motor or the lock actuator is broken/stripped.

Does your comfort access work perfectly? can you lock and unlock the car with every door handle ? check to make sure, then we can take it from there

I both love and hate the comfort access and soft close features. It is easy work and thanks to FCPEuro parts warranty I just buy the replacement, wait a few days, go to Publix Grocery for a Pressed Cuban Sub and beers, remove/install/ return for refund and enjoy my Cuban and beer. The hard part now is waiting at the deli for my sub

Everything seems to work perfectly on both doors and windows. I haven't dropped the soft top but can't imagine that's the problem since it's coming from inside the drivers door only. The noise hasn't changed/gotten worse after a week+ of daily driving (because my X5m blew the motor, but that's a different thread, lol).

I just happened to see this soft door close DIY last night. Sounds like the same issue.
