Installed LED rear lights
My LED turn signal, brake lights, and back up lights from WeissLicht arrived yesterday. The installation took all of 15 minutes and was straight forward. The light output is quite a lot more than the stock bulbs. So far they have not thrown any codes, and they are guaranteed not to throw codes. In my opinion, it was well worth the investment for the added safety of the brighter lights.

I didn't do the brake force light, too much of a pain to access and it rarely comes on.

LED parking/turn signal, brake and reverse lights
Last summer, I ordered weisslicht LED bulbs from Bimmian.com. The most noticeable is the reverse light which is near pure white and not yellowish...my guess is maybe 4-5K color temp. I really like the new orange front turn signal parking lights. More orange than amber color. The brake light is brighter but the color is slightly more pinkish...slightly.
The only problem is that your new LED lights will strobe when you start the car because the LEDs are low voltage and the computer checks them for faults, but I get no codes or warning lights. You will need to have BMW tech code out the vehicle's lighting system check to stop the strobing. |
