Oyster white leather interior?

Hey,

Does anyone have any photos of the oyster white leather package (cool elegance package), and maybe on a white exterior? I have heard that it might not match and that it gets dirty very very quickly, is this true? Any hands on experience?

This site has solved more questions than any BMW salesman has ever. This site is a MUST before getting an X1, congrats!

Thanks!!!

Good morning Konstantinos,

When I test-drove an X23d back in DEC09, it had the white interior.
Frankly I don't think it's gonna look good with a white car, then again it's a matter of personal taste and I will not engage on the subject of "beautiful" vs "tasteless". Your call really.

However I can confirm that it will show stains very quickly, but more over it will show wear even quicker.
Seat edges, steering wheel (if it's covered), all parts and areas where there is regular rubbing with passengers clothes or hands will darken as they get worn out, and it betrays immediately the car wear and tear.

After a year on my SD20d tan leather, there is already "shading" building up.

The display X1 at my dealer had a dirty interior. The centre arm rest was hideous. Dirty, stained and so on.

I ended up getting the pack as I like the light contrast of the oyster interior. I clean my interior every couple of weeks with a leather cleaner and conditioner.

It also depends on you. If you take good care of it, cleaning etc.

Thanks nagelixin and gatekeeper!

I was set on the oyster interior but did not know difficult it is to maintain. the car will be used for day to day travel, weekends in the mountains and sea 6 months a year. (I live on a Greek island). So I am a bit concerned about wear and tear. I like a light interior but it seems difficult to maintain.

Any suggestions for interior combinations on a white exterior? Brown magma leather with a beIge interior or plain black?

Any suggestions help at the moment, I have to buy within 2010

You welcome bro.

It's never easy to answer such a question, all tastes being different. I for one would never get a white X1 even for free ! In my opinion white always looks like the cheapest car off the dealer's backyard stock.

However if you want to get away from the black interior scheme, I think the Rotbraun leather would not be half bad...

Please remember to post pics. This is the only colour I have not seen the X1 in.

Mine is alpine white with the cool elegance package. I like it though I buy BMW because of the handling.
Just go for what color you like. The BMW dealer in Australia use a white X5 for their advertisement lately.

There is no such thing as "Mineral White" on my MY10 X1 brochure. Is this a new color for 2011 ?

I think it's new for 2011 - it's definitely in the brochure I got dated Aug 2010. I've noticed you're in France. Haven't been to the website there, but if you go to the UK configurator Mineral White is def. an option.

I have the Oyster and if you do routine cleaning, there is no problem. If you are a slob and don't tend to your leather, any color interior will look like crap over time. I use a leather cleaner and conditioner twice a year and all is OK.
