This is Leclerc's second season in F1 and first with a winning team. I would say his future is very bright and it's wayyyy too early to say he is overrated. I mean this was what his 4th podium already? Pretty solid start to his career imo.

They were covering Bottas and the Mercedes instead. Given it was a one stop, by the time they've decided to pit LEC and rbr decided to stay out longer for 10 laps. It was destined that Max will eventually overtake in the final stages.

Like max in the past few years, whatever took the win from Leclerc will just make him even more hunger for the win.
Great to see there's still hope in F1's future with these next generation drivers. So far Lando Norris was doing quite well, at times when the mclaren is decent. Also clean fight against Hamilton for a little while.

Sorry to rain on the parade but it was contact which forced another driver off the track. The decision was political on 3 fronts:
1. Dutch Fans by the gazillions there. 2. Honda's first win since nearly the last century. 3. Canada was echoing in their ears loudly and they couldn't stand a redo. This is like the return of Jean Marie Balestre and Max Mosely. Politics in racing in pure BS. Sorry, my dear friend Philippe...I know you bleed orange for him and his racing was impeccable up to that point. I didn't care who won up to that point as the suspense was what we all wanted. It was fantastic right up to to the point that he disallowed racing room on the track. The previous lap was perfect and they had no trouble racing side by side. Had he waited, VER would have been that much closer for the final lap and this wouldn't have even gone to the stewards. I went through the whole crashing into other drivers in the late 90s and early 2000s. I don't want to see that again. Cheers-MK

*Max Emilian Verstappen* was born on 30 September 1997 in Hasselt, Belgium => https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Verstappen His ID and driver license are Belgian (just like me) But he drives under the Dutch flag , most likely as for financial speculation... Hasselt , the place where Max is born is only 15 miles from my home .And I work daily in Hasselt at the company . Cheers my friend

Great to see close wheel to wheel racing, much needed.
Max deserved the win, brilliant drive, but his elbows are a little too wide for my liking. Got a chuckle out of this |

Honda needed a wake up call on their underdeveloped engine. McLaren needed some sobering on the fact that their chassis was not as good as they say/thought it was. Since then both sides have had a rethink and reshuffling of their plans/staffing. Today shows improvement for both parties, Honda winning via Red Bull. McLaren emerging as front running team of F1.5 (midfield); so far showing off the Renault factory team. (Perhaps Ricciardo should've gone to McLaren instead of Renault; time will tell ) |

closing the door who got the inside line is not something new.. im not fan of it but its part of racing.. they had a contact cause Leclerc thought there be a place for him as he mentioned.. and there were no place.. you can double check where Max was in the end.. on the racing line.. i dont think its political or anything.. best examples made by Schumacher in the past.. many like this.. if defensing can be made like this, overtaking can be made also.. double direction change is not allowed only.. you can start observing and count how many more times it ll happen again this season.. well done Max..
and i dont think Leclerc is overhyped or something.. he drove like a champion from free practices and he achieved best with whats left on the table.. i believe Ferrari's tactics was disastrous again that they pulled Leclerc in for his pitstop too early.. it was obvious that his tires will start to fall off in last 10-15 laps.. they probably made this decision due to low degradation they ve seen on practices but they didnt lap this much in any FP to double check it.. Leclerc has long and great years ahead.. and whoever is Leclerc's race engineer, his voice so panicky while Max was closing the gap, which is soo wrong talk with a racing driver like that..

It just annoys me that drivers have to even think about tyre management at all. We want flat out racing all the time. |

Vettel started 10th and finished 4th, ahead of Hamilton who started 2nd. Vettel also stopped twice for tires. With a few more laps to work with he might have made the podium. I'd say he comported himself rather well.

I really believe that the decision was incorrect and sets a bad precedent. I remember very well when drivers were injured and killed from wheel-to-wheel contact in F1 and other open wheel series. If people want to see a bunch of body rubbing while racing there is NASCAR and other tin-top racing around the globe. F1 and the rest of the open wheel feeder series' are not the place for this. Great comment and I always appreciate your input! Cheers-mk
