Dangerous tramlining and pulling while braking
So my Bmw X1 20d has about 140k km on the clock, i have changed new pads+rotos front and back, front lower control arms, outer tie rods, ball joints, swaybar links, caliper rep kit less than 6 months ago.
The car had 18X8 ET34 225/45/18 Hakkapellitta 9s (studded winter tyre) and the car was great, no shaking or vibration. Now i just put on 18X8 ET 30 225/45/18 Continental Premiumcontact 6 summer tires and car is tramlining alot. But the biggest problem is the braking, the car violently turns left or right on the freeway, depending on where the car is in the rut. If i can keep it 100% straight and brake, theres almost no vibration, but if it catches any side, the steering wheel shakes. Any ideas why this is happening? |

Yes, i had it aligned at the same time i did all the other stuff, i had alignment done on the ET 34 wheels, do you think it might be the different ET and mayble slightly wider 225 on the Contis that might be doing this?
I might go back and put the new 225 Contis on the old rims and see what happens. |
