Has anyone done a carless dp without doing software upgrades? What are my options besides tunes/MIL eliminators? I'd like to be able to bring the car in for service without having the idiot light on because my cat is in the garbage where it belongs.

Anti-foulers work a lot of the time but they also have to be changed every couple years. The heat destroys them and then you get an exhaust leak. Or at least that's the case for my friends in the Subaru community that use this trick.

Didn't know that. For me, catless gains are very appreciable but in my other car, the exhaust volume completely overtook the car to the point where I couldn't enjoy my tunes. No thanks!

The bushings fit just like they do a 335 or 135. Nothing special there. The rear sway bar we used was from the E93 and is a 25,3mm sway I believe. It is a tight fit for sure and required some special endlinks as the stock ones were too long, but in the end got it working quite well. It is massive compared to the tiny stock rear bar and should make a nice reduction in body roll and make the car more neutral. We are going to put a X1 specific package together on our site soon. |

N20 JB4 cable from DME into glove box
Has anyone tried routing the bms usb cable from their DME box through the firewall into the glove box. I have watched several DIY sites, but on my car when I took out the DME and partitions there was a solid cover in front of the hole that people are referencing. I tried banging on it really hard with some tools and could not get it to come out.
I also just installed the BMS Meth kit on my N20. I bought the 2.3gal one and the instructions copied below reference a small button to prime the engine. I can not find it. N55 Only: With ignition on and JB4 software connected press the small button in the upper right hand corner repeatedly to activate/test the pump. Each press will activate the pump for around a second and it should take 6-8 seconds to push all the air from the pump an get it properly primed. |

I gave up on trying to get it through the firewall on my X1. I bought an USB extension and run it just under the corner of my hood and through the open door near my side view mirror. I am not proud of how it looks, but it lets me send data logs to Terry for evaluation. Over several logs he has my car dialed. I get a kick out of watching the intake air temperature drop quickly when the meth kicks in. I have Burger's JB5, EWG N20 Harness, and trunk mount meth kit. From Evolution Racewerks I have their front mount intercooler, dp and cp. I had the guys at ER in Baldwin Park, CA install everything. They did an excellent job! I also like that you can always get the owner, Fred Su, on the phone for questions.

wow para once again breaking the ice. sweet looking forward to hearing all about it. i will ask my tech how he put the usb cable though. i have a question did you know that the tube coming from the turbo to the intercooler is plastic on the x1s and on the 1 and 3 series its metal. Iam getting a boost leak at that point because you can only tighten the plastic but so much. what did you do para? 12-15 psi low boost no problem but 17-19 psi it makes a boost leak.

Were the side mirrors wrapped while still mounted on the car or were they taken off? I want to CF warp my mirror caps as well but doing this without taking them off seems quite risky of scratching the caps while cutting out the edges. Are there any DIY to take them off? I'm driving 2014 April make. I have found few but none for e84 X1

Do we know much about these exhausts?
Are the midpipes the same as the 135? I'd love to be able to use the resonator deleting Y-pipe from my 1er on the X1. |
