Digital Speedometer?
I don't suppose there's any way to get the car coded so that it gives me a digital speed reading on the front display or on the iDrive display?
When I've got the seat & steering wheel at the most optimal ergonomic position, the top of the steering wheel blocks the analog speedometer... Once I'm over 40mph or so, I can't tell how fast I'm going! |

Probably very likely as you can code it on other models with the same On Board Computer. I have yet to see a X1 cheat sheet though for coding like other models have.

I've got the same issue with lack of speedo visibility. I've been experimenting with different seat levels with moderate success, but optimal angle on my wrists always seems to block the top of the speedo (including turn signals). I'd be very interested in an alternate speedo readout...

I don’t know if it’s available on an X1.
I have the optional all-digital instrumentation dashboard on my Nissan 300ZX turbo. One complaint that I’ve heard from people who I’ve let drive it is the speedometer display. Because the speedometer displays the instantaneous speed, the numbers change very quickly during acceleration/deceleration. The speedometer becomes a blur of fast changing numbers and it appears to wink at you. I prefer it over a traditional analog speedometer with a needle gauge. |

I am not trying to sell anything or get refferal, just want to point out what is possible thru coding:
-Rolling Up The Windows With The Key -Folding The Mirrors With The Key -Disabling The Window Safety (Windows Keep Going Up When You Open The Door) -Start Car Without Foot On Brake -DVD In Motion -Brake Force Display (Rear Fogs Illuminate With Brake Lights) -Digital Speedometer In The Cluster -Disable Speed Overestimation (True Vehicle Speed Is Shown) -Disable Legal Disclaimer -Disable Sidemarkers -Double Hazard Flashing/Eurohazards -Eject Keyfob From Socket When Car Is Turned Off -Unlock Doors When Car Is Shut Off -Disable Seat Belt Chimes -Disable Door In Ignition Chime -Run Fog Lights And High Beams Simultaneously I got most of these thru him with small fee. (I didn't pick all these, only few that I like, he charged me one flat fee) |

The two things I want to change to are:
- Traction control off by default - Rear camera not turning off automatically Anyone know if these can be done? Also, having to use the button on the gear lever is unwanted, but changing the stick to one without a button will take care of that, I've been told. |
