It's not bad. I had it on a 328i loaner. However, I would never choose it over any of the other choices.

Just seen pictures of it, and in the pictures it a very sharp color, never thought i would like a dark bronze color but Bmw did a great job on it if it looks same in person, very unique color....

BMW NA
I didn't see it on the Build Your Own as an option. I would suggest Mineral Grey!

It's not that unique - it's a staple colour for Audi and Porsche, offered by Mercedes too, and once upon a time, VW vans came in that shade of metallic brown too.

But why would anyone choose the Marrakesh over Sparkling Bronze? The X3 we almost ordered was going to be Bronze. Marrakesh should have been replaced with Vermillion Red IMHO.

I would have prefered Imola Red to better match the red interior they offer, but yeah, Vermillion Red would have been better than the Porsche Brown.

I do believe that you can get the BMW in any colour you want, exterior and interior, by ordering a Motorsport customized build.
Of course, it's going to cost you an arm and a leg, but if you don't see the colour you want, it's always an option. Going Alpina instead of BMW is another (expensive) option, but they don't have an X1 equivalent, only X3. |

I own a Marrakesh Brown X1 35i and it is beautiful. Stop hating on the color. Its beautiful especially in sunlight after waxing. It has nice undertones of gold and the pearl effect. I receive compliments frequently. Its unique like Valencia orange that you don't see everyone else on the road with the same colors. To each his own.

After not seeing another X1 for a while here in LA I saw two white ones in 24 hours. I think they were both Alpine. Both new purchases, one from McKenna and one from Bob Smith, but that one said pre-owned! very briefly pre-owned, I guess.
I don't have the greatest eyesight so it's still hard for me to tell an X3 from an X1 from a distance. I know the X3 is larger overall, especially taller. So I have a feeling I might have seen a couple more X1s that I realize and thought they were X3s. Last edited by mullini; 07-22-2013 at 10:26 AM.. |
