Hi Juidia
I saw in another thread your angel eyes are infact the LUX H8 ones? How do you install those into a retrofitted headlight housing? Does anyone know if there are aftermarket Angel Eye rings accept H8 bulb? |

Just saying i myself am f'ing pissed that australia doesn't have xenons as a standard option. I feel the xenon/angel eyes gives the car a more premium aesthetic to it when it sits anywhere on the road. I too have asked my bmw dealer about retrofitting and they don't do it which is what im really ticked off about.
Going to try contacting BMR autowerks here in syd and see if they can help out with this retrofit. |

A humble suggestion.
I have a Jeep Wrangler that I fitted with E-code lights, 100w bulbs, and relays to make sure full wattage reached the lights (there's a lot of loss thru' the steering column switches and back). The resulting lights are quite good; maybe not quite the Xenons in the X1, but very good lights all the same. For the OP, if you are happy with the beam pattern of your OEM lights, give some serious thought to bumping the wattage and running relays. The whole notion of shifting the beam pattern for left hand drive just makes my head hurt. Moon |

Hi Vitlovksi, nah i didnt end up doing it as its far too expensive expecially here in Aus.
I found I'm having all sorts of other issues such as economy which I have to look at first! Where are you based in Australia? |

hi Vitolovski
Are you in Sydney ? I found a guy who does lighting / HIDs/LEDs and he mods headlight housing. He discussed optiosn where he would mod the inside of your housing with projectors , shrows and put in Angel eyes and HIDs. I saw some of his stuff and looks EOM as its using your original housing. I think he said between 750-900 depending on what components you want to use. Still way cheaper than any other method. Im not sure I will do it as I will probably change car but if you are keen i can pass the guys details on. (well i found 2 shops that do it so you can call and compare) cheers |

Hello li21
Interesting but i am close to adelaide. I think i will hold off a bit longer on Doing a headlight retrofit. I read your Other thread on your xdrive20d's Performance and I have a couple of Suggestions. 1. Your gearbox does not seem to be Functioning properly when you dont take Of from a standstill in 1st gear. 2. Your air flow meter may have been Overlooked at service, this can cause Poor engine operation and higher fuel Consumption figures. 3. I did do recently a road trip to sydney And driving around the city and freeways I found i had to rally drive to keep up With the traffic. Maybe your fuel consumption Is ok in regards to sydney driving. |

Hello moon.
Yes there is a version of xenon lights set up for left side Of the road i.e. RHD vehicles. Yes they are marketed in England only where i have enquired they dont post to Australia. Everywhere else germany, USA they are LHD Lights which is for the right side of the road. Frustrating really. I am after the 2013 static version In RHD which is the headlamp level adjustment Only, not the adaptive lights that turn into corners. |

Vit', have a hard look at my previous post regarding 100w incandescent bulbs and relays. This is relatively inexpensive, and it may meet your needs, or at least until you are actually able to get a English-style set of Xenons. As I said, the lights in my Jeep aren't as good as xenons, but they come mighty close.
If you Aussies are already using up-wattage bulbs and relays (Euro-spec lights), then never mind...it's what you already have. Moon |
