Variable Sport Steering on M-Sport
Heading into the dealer to place an order tomorrow on a 335i M-Sport.
I've been discounting the Variable Sport Steering as a gimmick, and I've only test-driven cars without it, is it worth while with the M-Sport faster steering rack? |

I have it, supposedly, can't say I've noticed yet though :-)
I have been occupied, though playing with other stuff!

I have driven loaners without it and can definitely notice the difference when I get back into my car. The steering feels slightly heavier. For me, it was worth the extra few hundred bucks.

Not a gimmick. Definitely worth it for me.

Hmm, tempting, problem is I keep adding options and pretty soon I'll have ticked every box anyway. If I added ACC then I'd pretty much have the lot as the Innovations Package adds pretty much all the rest.

You'll find your car extremely easy to park and turn around town. But when you start to drive it a bit quicker, and also when in Sport Mode, the steering becomes firmer and more precise. It's especially good on tight twisty roads. My only small gripe when I first got the car was that I could feel a very subtle "dead spot" in the steering when cruising on the freeway (my previous car was an M3 with very precise steering). Having said that, after a few weeks, I got used to it, and rarely notice it now. Definitely get it. You won't regret it.
