One thing I’ve done is go to the website for each track around me and look at their event calendar. That would show me the groups renting the tracks. If it’s your first time, or two, or three, don’t be shy about asking for an instructor, it’s nice to have someone helping with the line on track if you haven’t been on it before.

One way you can check out nearly all of the HPDE events nearby is to use motorsportreg.com
NJ and NY BMW CCA already announced their DE event calendars. NASA is there too, PCA and SCCA are yet to publish their's, which will happen within the next two weeks I believe. https://www.motorsportreg.com/calend...1&loc=New+York

I second the recommendation for the SCDA. It is definitely a well-run organization.

SCDA in CT does track days in CT, MA, and NY. Watkins Glen 4 times per year. I've been doing events with them since 2007 and they're very good.

NASA, SCDA, and others are fine organizations, but if this is your very first event, I'd recommend starting with BMWCCA. Granted, it's been many years since I was doing track days, but the clubs have slightly different cultures, and BMWCCA would be my recommendation for a first-timer based on the depth of their instructor program. Lime Rock or NJMP would be the nearest and best choices in terms of venues.

I might recommend TrackDaze...they tend to have a thinner crown than compared to my NASA (MidAtlantic) experiences. Fewer cars DEFINITELY helps a newer driver on track. Seems well run, though they seem to struggle getting enough instructors like most organizations.
But, in this case, fewer cars helps focus on the road ahead instead of driving the mirrors with some 600-hp ZL1 Vette up your tailpipe. Enjoy...it'll change your life! |
