2015 X1 Radio Questions

Hi there everyone. I'm looking into installing a android based radio into my x1. some of the listings I have found on eBay claim that they only work up to the 2013 model. However when I look at it it looks exactly the same as the 2015 model is there a difference in wiring or can I just grab one of the 2013 radios and install it into my 2015 model X1..

I see about half of the listings on eBay say that they're compatible with 2015 (actually say to 2016 but pretty sure the E84 wasn't made in 2016?)

so I'm just wondering if there's anything that would be stopping me from installing a quote 2013 system into a 2015 model.

anyways I found out. there is none. I was able to order a 2013 screen for my 2015 X1 with no issues.

Hmm interesting! How bad was the installation? And which one did you end up going with exactly?

I had ordered a similar system but had to return it. The power cable was too short to reach from the connector to the head unit assembly.

I was refunded by the seller. Checked the sellers page 3 days later and the title from was changed from 2009-20015 to 2009-2013. Its also marked down 50 dollars less.

Hey folks. Sorry for no reply.

I ended up getting one from AliExpress. While it works very well I dislike the seller so therefore I'm not going to link it

About the short cables. Yes. That was an issue. I just cut a hole in the plastic and ran the cable where the air vent is. Nothing obstructing just can't close my air vent.

As for idrive. No clue. My car never came with idrive so I can't give feedback on it
