On mine, one of the fronts had a little too much negative camber but not anything to be worried about. Dealer did the alignment btw.

I've searched around and haven't found anyone who used e90 h&r springs. I know there are they similar suspensions? Or identical?

The drop looks great! No problems running these with stock shocks?

No problem with stock shocks. If they wear out faster, then so be it. Worth it IMHO.

No problems so far for us, either. The drop is pretty mild so the additional wear should be minimal. When the stock units wear out, time to upgrade.

All of these look great. Do you guys mind sharing which % tint you have on your windows? Trying to decide how dark to go.

I have 20% tint on rear/back windows only. I do not find them problematic at night at all.

I figure I'll revive this old thread rather than creating a new one...

I am giving serious thought to putting H&R springs on my X1. This is both for looks and the fact that I track my X1 for fun.

I'd like to get some long-term feedback on how those of you that have done this liked the change.

Thanks!

Would also be interested in knowing if you just changed the springs (and stayed with the stock shocks) or did you change to a better shock at the same!

It took a little while, but I finally got my springs installed today. Not the best pictures, but here are some before & afters. It's a good 1-1.5" difference.

To be safe, I'll probably want to get the alignment checked fairly soon.

Only one day of pretty short commute (~25 miles roundtrip) with these so far, but I figure it's the best time to comment while the old ride is still fresh in my mind.

Despite others saying this before, I'm am surprised that in general the ride is actually smoother and less jarring than with the stock springs. That said, you definitely feel it more when you hit a more severe dip, bump, etc.

I guess the biggest thing so far is how much more car like it feels now. Before it never felt like an SUV, but it also didn't feel like a car. That has definitely changed. It is amazing the difference an inch plus change makes.

Now I just can't wait for my next track event to see how it feels in the corners!

Did you end up upgrading the Shocks/Struts as well, or did you just reuse your stock ones?

If stock, how acceptable would you say the ride quality is?

I stayed with the stock springs and have been happy with the ride. Pretty much what I said initially, I find the general ride to be a little better than stock, but you definitely feel the bigger bumps more.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how it feels on the track this weekend.

Please let us know your thoughts. I am thinking about lowering my car as well.

Very simply, if you track your X1 or do any sort of spirited back road driving I would highly recommend lowering it.

It was never terrible, but it was a completely different car out on the track today

Only bummer is that I had to cut my day short and skip the last session due to a minor tire issue!
