Replaced OEM Rotors and pads with Cross Drilled And Slotted rotors and ceramic pads
Hi, after 66 000 km on my E84 X1 28i, my rotors and pads were completely worn. So I've decided to look for some aftermarket rotors. After an exhaustive search, I’ve finally ordered a kit with cross drilled and slotted rotors from R1 Concepts (Canada Brakes) with new ceramic pads and sensors.
To make the new installation better looking, I’ve also painted the calipers. The most difficult part was removing the rear rotors. The handbrake shoes were completely stuck with the inner side of the rotors. After a lot of efforts, I was able to remove them…with the brake shoes, but I was able to replace them after. |

Thanks for the post, how does it compare to stock now after you break them in? Less brake dust ?
The stocm brakes on mine should be done by end of the year wanted a set of coated rear rotors so it doesnt rust. |

So far the braking force is better that the stock one and I didn't notice more dust, maybe less. So far there is no rust, the appearance of rotors have changed, it looks more like galvanized steel. I will post some pictures
