2011 x1 x-drive trye pressure sensor failed

Hi,

Had a part worn tyre fitted to match the existing tyres due to a puncture, when i go to the idrive to reset the system but the initiate is grey'd out and says tyre pressure monitor failure.

This car does not have tpms which I thought at first it did and was just a faulty sensor.

Any help would be gratefully received

Check to see if you have metal valve stems. If so you do have the TPMS at the valve. I'm not sure o n this but some older (my 2007 X3) systems relied on the ABS System to monitor the tire speed to determine if a tire is low. I would think if there is a fault there you would also have an ABS light, but I'm just guessing on that.
