Question P2402 Engine Code Issue

Anyone have any idea what could throw a generic code of P2402 for the E84? I read on other models it might be the leak detection pump that went bad. My car is a 2013 BMW X1 sdrive currently at 57K miles; bought it used from dealer in August when it had 48K miles on it. I don't think this issue would be cover under any sort of warranty (emission?)?

On BMW Carly app:
003225 - DMTL leak diagnosis pump control: Short circuit to positive

if related to emission: in the CA warranty are longer. i think is 7 year 70k. read the manual booklet that should have come with the vehicle.

some parts are covered and some are not

Don't have the user manual, didn't come with the car when I bought it from BMW dealer...

I'm assuming this might be the part that's not functioning correctly.

I've erased the code, was good for about 200 miles, light came back on. Erased it again today, came back on within 20 miles.

Anyone know where the leak detection pump is located? Seems like it's usually in the rear, but not sure if it's the passenger side or driver side.

I believe it's item "2" on this RealOEM diagram, which would put it on the charcoal cannister - which appears to be near the fuel tank, on the driver's side.

Just wanted to add my own data point.

Same code on 2013 x28i e84, DTML pump was located under the car on the opposite side of the exhaust. had to take off some of the underbody covers, replaced the grommet and the pump.

Cleared the code and has not come back yet.
