My First BMW (with 4 wheels)

Hi All,
After Buying my First BMW scooter, I felt that I could enjoy the cars as well. I opted to order the X28 M Sport in LeMans blue / Black Neveda Leather. I ordered it in August and using this site I followed it online, that was great! I got it back in September but have not had much chance to drive it; until I drove east to Idaho/Washington boarder. I have a customer in Clarkston Wa/ Lewiston Id area. The 5 hour ride was very comfy, up over the mountian pass and thru the smaller roads until I get to the Curvy's Wa261 passing Polouse Falls State park. to Starbuck Wa.
The X1 handles great, the 25mph curves going at 45 with tires squeeling and rushing feeling of racing..Yeah, not that fast but fun and sooo much better than the CX-7 (Mazda) I had.

While there I also tried a high speed run on the open mesa top with a 5 mile straight shot toward Rattlesnake grade and Boggan's Oasis. Topping 125 you could feel the air trying to pick you up and just felt worse hitting 135, so I didn't go further.

At rattle snake grade, I switched to Sport drive and turned DTC off. most of the course was great, but road work half way thru slowed me down a little.

I would recommend if you find yourself in the area, it's worth the detour to drive it.

Now back in Bellevue, I am extremely happy with my decision to purchase the X1, and will try the high speed run again when I lower her down,,,,

I think the height lets me drive a bit more enthusiastically on bad roads. My VMax might not be quite as high, but I don't have to worry about knocking my oil pan out when I'm driving on gravel roads.

But thanks for the WA road recommendations, I'm new to the PNW and all my old back roads I'm familiar with are a couple thousand miles away

Small world! I just got my 2014 sDrive28i with M Sport, 19's, in Le Mans blue, and also ride a BMW bike (S1000RR). Living in SoCal AWD isn't really for me, plus I got the car because it reminded of the E46 wagon which was a favorite of mine back in the day in terms of size and dynamics.

I Love this thing, there aren't many rear-drive compact cars available these days with 50/50 wt distribution, 260 torques, and 19 inch 255 tires in the back from the factory. It should also look pretty cool towing the bike to the track for track days (BMW car towing a BMW bike!).

My previous car was a E46 M3 that I got new in 2005. Added H&R coil overs and aftermarket wheels.

I would love to ride the S1000RR, but my legs just don't bend enough anymore, that why I went with the Scooter. After: Dynojet, De-catting, K&N filter, Dyno tuned, changed clutch and Transmission system....I copied the RR from your bike and re-designated it C600rr, so far it really supprises alot of people off the line; not to mention extremely confortable to ride.

I know what you mean, "leg room" on the S1000RR is pretty tight. On longer 3-4hr rides, I wish I had gotten the K1300S! I got the S1000RR bike last July, and have put on 15.3k miles. It's an amazing bike. Highly refined and easy to ride on the street at low speed, but can do 0-150mph in 10 seconds with a good rider.

Your bike looks great, is that the Sport? I sat on one at the dealership. Looks like a lot of fun, and very well made. How is it for 2-up riding?

I take my wife and daughter on short rides all the time. they like the wide seat and bars to grab on. Unlike the FZ1 I had in Thailand.
And the heated seats help
