Gearbox or transfer box issue?

My 2010 23d X1 that’s done 137k miles is juddering a little while accelerating. I think it’s something do do with either the gearbox or transfer box. When you accurate from any speed there’s a slight shake. Like it’s missing. It’s not the engine as in neural it revs quickly and smoothly.

Any ideas what it could be? I bet it’s going to be expensive 🥲

Subscribed, I'm a new owner and member here. Mine does this too. Vehicle runs flawlessly otherwise, was well maintained by a long time owner and is in great condition but I notice this during uphill acceleration sometimes.
It definitley feels like its somewhere in the gearbox.

Since the 23d was not sold here, you may not get many responses. Is it a 6 speed or 8 speed auto?

Have the tranny and xfer case fluid been changed?
Any codes?

Thank you, I guess I did not make a sterling debut post.
Mine is a US spec, XLine, 8 speed, 2.0 litre.

I will dig back through all the records from the PO and his Service Manager. Its lengthy (which is good).

Lets assume that it has not been done, from combing this forum with 115K on the clock it looks like I should do it ASAP.

Thankfully the car has had lots of regular maintenance all at a dealer (Rahal) in Pittsburgh PA USA. The former owner did really maintain the car and was on a first name basis with the service manager. He seemed to spare no expense, but I dont know how forum savvy he was to go the "extra mile" that forum knowledgable people do. I'll do my research in the receipts.

I missed the fact that the OP had a 123D, I focused on the acceleration judder which almost perfectly described what mine does.
