DIY: Replace rechargeable battery in Key FOB

Replaced the rechargeable battery in a 2014 E84 (non-comfort access) and made a DIY. The lock/unlock buttons still do not work after this, but the key will start the car. Looking for suggestions from others on how to get this functionality back. I've tried several things I've read online with no success so far...

Check the connections between the buttons on the keyfob and the circuit board, these can get dirty and the small buttons on the key fob may no longer work. Try to activate them manually without the keyfob. I don't understand why they stop functioning after replacing the battery

Check the antenna, it's maybe the cause of your central locking problem

Tried the buttons manually. Nothing. I have a second FOB that works fine so not the antenna

Which battery to use?

Needing to replace the battery on an E84 non comfort grip fob but don't want to open the fob until the battery is ordered (since the key is still working). I'm understanding that it needs to be a VL 2020, but sites (Amazon, Ebay, etc) don't list E84 as a compatible match. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct battery?
