Transmission drain/fill. To DIY or no?

Hi,

Just got a (lovely condition) 2013 X1 xDrive 28i with around 100,000 miles on it. Mechanically good according to local trusted mechanic that handles import cars.

I'm new to doing things myself on cars but very willing and able to learn given all the info out there.

Thinking it might be a good idea to do a transmission drain/fill given the miles on it I was looking at the kits and video on FCP Euro:

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...-24118612901kt

First off.. do you think it's a good idea to do oneself or let a pro do it? I'd have to find pricing for it. It doesn't look 'too hard'. I have a flat and level garage and can take my time on it (we have another car to drive etc.)

Second, if I do do it myself, the ZF kit or the LiquiMoly? Anyone try either of those? The price difference is substantial.

My only feedback is that a drop and fill is going to change out about 40% of the fluid. A tranny shop will have a flush machine.
