New to me X1 /winter shoes

Hey everyone! Bought my X1 back at the end of August but have just been browsing the forum since, so I finally decided to say hey and show off my car!

2013 Mineral Grey x35i M sport (15,xxx miles at delivery)

Here's the progression from the day I brought it home to having the winter shoes put on a few days ago

I almost wish I would've gone with light gray instead of black rims, but they were cheap so if I get bored with them I'll just paint them

Let me know what ya'll think!

Here's mine with 17s and Michelin X-Ice:

I've driven in 6-8" of snow with absolutely no issues, this car is unstoppable now.

Have fun!!

Agreed. Black looks great with Mineral Gray. I kind of feel like black is a classic winter rim color too.

I'm running X-Ice on black rims. Love them.

Thank you! they are 225/45/18 on 18x8's They look meatier than I had expected (but I like!) and almost makes me wish I would've gone 235/45.

Looks great! and yes, this thing is incredible with snows! Drove several mountain passes last week and it was a blast

My thoughts exactly, definitely a classic winter color. I just wasn't sure if I was going to get bored with it quickly but so far I love it. X- Ice's are great. I went with Blizzak WS80s because I've of course heard good things but had never tried them. Really love them so far.

I'm glad ya'll like it. I just had the resonator cut out this week as well. Adds a nice growl without droning! Cheap too. Definitely not permanent but will suffice until I save for a full exhaust.

Any exhaust clips? I was thinking of doing that was well but wasnt sure if it would be too droney. I adore the metallic rasp that these 6's can make in their higher rpm.

I have a catless dp and did the golf tee mod. Im content with volume, just want a slightly better pitch. N55's sound amazing

Haven't had the chance yet, could do a mediocre iphone vid but I'm going to try and grab a suction mount for the cam this weekend and yes, I love the rasp! The N55 sounds incredible. I usually receive a "whoa!" when people hear it start up. ...I've always swooned over the sounds of BMW's inline 6- since I was a child and it's so rewarding to finally own one.
The exhaust is not really much louder as it is deeper/fuller, and it sounds great through the top end as well. Inside the cabin there is no drone, and is surprisingly quiet. I remember hearing about the golf tee mod way before I got this car, I'll have to add that to my to do list this weekend haha.

Detailed my car the other day so I thought I'd post a more recent photo and update.

In the last 6 months or so I've done the "golf tee" mod, had a 2" tow hitch put in (which I use so much more than I expected to), painted the kidney surrounds, and installed a JB4. Those fuel pressure sensor wires were a pain, but wow, what a fantastic mod. And now I have a set of e-torx that I'm sure I'll use again, ha. Next of course will be a charge pipe and catless dp, so I'll have to wait a little longer to get rid of the wheel gap I'm coming up on 60k in a few thousand miles as well, and will need to do diff/trans/tc fluids, so that's fun!

I have EBC yellowstuff(s) that will be going in soon too, and rotors on order.

I still need to get an exhaust clip up as it seems quite a bit louder with the Jb4, and I love it. I'll have some time off work here in a bit now that the school year is ending and will post one up.

Almost two years and 43k miles later (yikes) and I love this car more than when I first bought it!
