In what sense? This list is based on sales, they do sell the most in the chicago land area.

X1000!, worst dealer I have ever dealt with, I've purchased cars over 300 Miles away even though Perillo had one available just to avoid them.

Looks like they've been working hard.

Does anyone have insight as to what data goes into compiling these rankings?
I would say it's just/mostly sales volume. I don't think anyone's getting hooked up but also I don't think customer service or experience was was weighed as a deciding factor.

Thanks guys we have actually won the award 9 times, the qualifications have been completely changed since those days. At this time we were unable to reach the new qualifications.

Congrats to those dealers who won this year

Which leads me to think this is not just about sales volume. My dealer is in Metro Detroit and is one of 4-5 dealer in the area. There are not enough BMW's sold in this region of the country compared to wealthy areas like Westchester County, Orange County, the Miami area, Houston, Dallas, Chicago and northern and southern CA to make this list only on volume.

So, the award is based on "based on their 2012 performance in customer satisfaction, outstanding brand representation, operational excellence and profitability." I wonder how much of that has to do with profitability?

I won't got to BMW of Alexandria because the one time I did go to buy my car there, not one person so much as said hello to me, let alone show an interest in selling a car to me. As a result, I've bought 4 BMWs in the past 6 years from Passport BMW, and I'm quite pleased with the sales and service personnel and practices there.

Congrats to Dreyer & Reinbold in Indy!!!
Steve Baker heading sales, and Dave Lyon heading Service! And to all the team members...
Top notch all the way.
Proud to say my first was bought as a special order from Munich from them in 2002!
They also take care of my Z4MR ... Which, yes I bought from Perillo in Chicago, and I am proud they made the list. They took good care of me on the M, transported it to Indy with a right of refusal guarantee. They've earned my respect.

Would be nice to see a similar list of awards for BMW dealerships based in Canada.

In the northern VA area, BMW of Alexandria is pretty good. BMW of Sterling and BMW of Fairfax range from OK to terrible month to month.

Something that makes a huge impression to me at Alexandria is that if I come in in the morning, I get coffee and donuts. In the afternoon I get lunch. It may be crazy to think that a $5 sandwich could sell a $70k car but it does. I can't stand dealerships that are pinching pennies so much that after talking to a rep for an hour, if I want water I need to go to the water fountain. It's clear that those dealerships ONLY care about making as much money as possible. just terrible.

Ridgefield's climb up the rankings is no surprise. I live locally and have bought two vehicles from them. First time under the prior ownership and the dealership was definitely run down and not performing as it should. All competitors had beautiful new facilities (e.g. Audi, Porsche, VW just up the road a bit). Then just before the financial crisis hit it was bought by the owner of Bridgeport, Ed McGill. I wrote and met with him to tell him how great my prior dealership was (Austin, TX) and where I thought Ridgefield was messing up. He didn't need my advice, he knew and he has delivered. New facilities (delayed because of financial crisis I suspect, but fully operational now), new staff, new fleet of loaner vehicles, more attentive sales team, summer intern programs for young people, support for community events. He even moved himself, buying a house Ridgefield. In the last 5 years they have doubled volume of sales and doubles employees.

My current car I could have got for $500 less at another dealership. But on a $60,000+ purchase I am going to support a local dealership that is an asset to the town I live in and has an owner that has completely transformed the business.

BMW Stratham, NH may have a great sales group, however their treatment of my CPO vehicle was subpar. when going in for warranty work upon inspection of my engine bay, I found they had broken a tab for the cabin air filter, and didn't bother to mention or replace it.

No suprise that there weren't any AZ dealerships on that list. The service department at North Scottsdale is great but I try to stay away from sales. I'm a younger professional and they judge that I'm there only to test drive cars and am not a serious buyer. Oh well, that's why I buy all my cars private party and save the tax.

lol @ Perillo BMW, these awards are a joke. Worst dealership ever, bunch of scammers, look at all the legit reviews. Something is wrong with BMW, in all seriousness.

I apologize for not going through all 5 pages, but what are the criteria for judging the ranking? I'm sure there are a few, but is it mostly number of cars sold - sales?

I dealt with Prestige too, all the way from Vegas for some touch paint for my 2013, could not find it anywhere on the West Coast and they were great!

My dealership here in Vegas was on the list they are pretty good. Irvine BMW of CA is really good, I purchased a car from them in 2010 and they were fantastic, from Andrew in Finance and the Internet Sales Manager, just ready to help.
