F80 isn't great for clients either. Ride's too rough (in my '15 F80 with passive suspension and 18s anyway) 528 for the win |

My local BMW just got a 335ix M sport manual in, might go check it out.
We'll see how much room the rear has. Otherwise I'm stuck hunting for a 5 series unicorn. |

Hi, My wife had a '13 f30 335 with sport suspension and 19s and it was one of my least favorite bmws. get an f10, f80 or go back to e90....

If it's a manual and fits well in the back, I have no problem fitting some nice kw's or koni's. Thats why I've held back modding my x1, I don't see a any benefit fixing something that is inherently not fun to drive.

so I've owned x135, f80 m3 and f30 335 (all of those cars overlapped with each other for a few weeks) and just wanted to share that f30 335 is a very distant third place. I would take my old 6mt e90 328 over f30 335 |

Damn, do you think proper suspension would even help?
Regardless I'm going to take er for a spin. |

Definitely do so, you should never base a decision like this on how others feel a car drives.
For example I completely disagree with you in that the X1 is inherently not fun to drive Everyone comes from a different situation and has different wants, needs & likes! |

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a-tale-of-two-bmw-3-series-a-chassis-rig-reveals-why-the-e90-and-f30-feel-so-different Points 8 and 10 are called out at the end as most significant, and I agree with the author based on my ownership experience. For what it's worth, I feel bmw purposely designed the f30 to be excellent at commuting, and they turned up the sport on f80. A great approach would be getting a new X1 or some other commuter and then adding on a 2 seater of some sort |

It was quite an adjustment giving up MT and sports suspension and seats I'm now really cautious about options when shopping |

I would still recommend it in a manual. My post was more regarding back seat spacing since that's an added concern for kilo

We have two gti in the family, Both MT. I am 5.10 and fit fine in the backseat. We also have a MT X3 with a usable backseat.
My X1 Msport is my second AT car in my 40 plus years of driving and I find it quite fun to drive with the 8AT and paddle shifters |

Why not have two cars? One for clients and one for you. I’ll be damned if I would settle for something I might not like just to appease a few clients. And client’s rear seat comfort could not be that important if OP was Okay with stuffing them in the back of an E84.

No, if all else fails I'll step into a 3 series gt and just be frustrated with the auto transmission.
Wife gets a new ridgeline this spring, tried the ol' swap cars trick to no avail. |

One cool thing about the current 3 series sedan is that it's the only new BMW configurable with both AWD and manual transmission.

Wish that carried over to the GT, but honestly if I wanted to waste money on a new bmw, I'd be looking at a used m5's
