How to update 2019 maps in navigation

I would first like to thank you for your help, Ian fairly tech savvy but i can't figure this out. I have downloaded the new premium 2019 maps for North America. I have unzipped the files and put them on a USB.

For some reason when I plug the USB into the dash nothing comes up. I went to the software update option but still got nothing, it says no USB recognized.

Is there something that I am missing here? If you are aware of any step by step instructions i would really appreciate it!

Thank you very much for your help!

I read that online but i don't believe the 2015's have USB in the glove box, i think the only one is on the center console.

Also just re-formatted it to ExFat since my Mac won't let me do Fat-32. I am attempting to unzip the files again so it will take a while, will let y'all know if that works.

It's in there, it's just a little hard to find the first time. You have to use this one.

You were right sir, in the glove box on the top left. I tried it there too with the new format but still no luck....

Everything I've seen says it has to be FAT32.

It took a while for my '14 X1 to recognize the flash drive (maybe 5 minutes). Might just need to leave it in longer. Oh, and I was able to format the drive FAT32 on my Mac. Good luck!

Don't use USB3 flash drives. USB2 work.

As a side note when updating the software you have to plug it into the center console, it won’t let you do it from glove box.

Just glad to have the map and software update done and completed!

Where did you buy the map upgrade. I understand you need a code to upgrade correct?

I found the maps files online at a "pay what you want" site and bought a "lifetime" code off of Ebay. Once I finally left the flash drive in the glovebox port long enough to activate the upgrade process, everything worked great!

Hey I purchased the map and the FSC code online, it does take a couple minutes for the car to recognize the USB.
