IAA Car Show In Frankfurt (X1 mobbed)
There was a Marrakech Brown? X1 at the IAA Car Show in Frankfurt. The place was so mobbed that I really couldn't get much for pictures. It didn't look too bad in person, like a smaller X3.
There was a very nice looking 120i there, Sapphire Black Metallic/Coral Red/Glacier Silver, just like my 128i. BMW Performance had a 135i with nice wheels, seats, and a carbon fiber spoiler.

I've seen it as well, there is a new steering wheel from the performance division without all the little lights and screen but with a nice yellow strip in the middle and it is also straight cut on the bottom like audi, all alcantara.
The new mirrors are sh...t! just to big for that car!

I love those wheels on the 135 there.
Also, the X1 looks great...if they can price it in the mid 30s, it will be a hit.

I'm seriously considering the X1 as a replacement for my Saab 9-2X.
If anyone else is going to the Frankfurt IAA and gets a chance to check out the X1's rear seat legroom, please report back as that will be a key selection criteria for me. The rear seat will need to hold 2 babyseats. I'm 6.5" so I will need the drivers seat back almost all the way (if it is comparable to the 1er front legroom). TIA

Hey SJ, here's a couple of links for those BMW Performance Sport Seats in Alcatara:
BMW Performance Catalog BMW Performance Parts Catalog post Car Advice Australia Towards the bottom of the 2nd link, it says that they're not available in the US (not on accessories.bmwusa.com), but I would contact my dealer to see what magic they can work. The BMW catalog says they're not available on convertibles. I recall that there is no height adjustment too. I sat in the 1-Series Tii Concept Coupe (maybe just a 1 done up with all the accessories) in the BMW Welt in Munich in 2008. Reaction: I want those seats! I think the dash and steering wheel were done in Alcantara too, with beautiful stitching. Looked like a baby Lambo interior... Tii Concept Alcantara Dash |
