Eight speed tranny

The revs really stay low with it. Noticed today that doing 130 km/hr on DVP was only 2100 rpm.
No problem in keeping below 4k rpm duriing break in.

Another thing I found out is that if you stop driving and hit the Stop button whilst still in D=Drive, the car automatically goes into P=Park.

Now that's cool.... Wish I had the 8-speed in mine

Mind you then I would want it with a 3.0d as well.

Stop button = Park, that's how I park my car.

No need to shift anymore.... that's very quick..

The computer knows it already....

If you really want to obsess about this transmission, here is the manufacturers propaganda:
http://www.zf.com/corporate/en/produ...nsmission.html

They claim that it mis 11% more efficient than the previous six-speed version, which was itself quite an improvement. I have not yet found a direct comparison, but the gear ranges do go well lower than the previous one, so highway efficiency should improve.

My 6 speed sits at 2000rpm at 110km.... Towing a trailer!
