BMW X1Diesel N47 Random Overheating
Hi all,
I've been experiencing random overheating on my BMW X1 It seemed like normal temperature is between 85-90 C, but sometime it went up as high as 112C. And I noticed this happened if i drive on traffic jam. Whenever it went over 100C, I check the reservoir, it tend to loose the coolant. When the first occurrence happened, I took it to the workshop, and the check, my injector number 1&4 were leaking, and according to them, that was the root cause, and if they fix that, it should go away. But it didnt. I checked the dan, without AC ON, it wont turn on even its showing 90-92C, and if i turn on the AC, then the fan is also on. Since diesel population is quite rare in this market, not all workshop can handle this engine. Appreciate if anyone the help to narrow down the root cause. Thank you |

Hi all,
Unfortunately, although it was the resevoir issue, it wasn't the root cause. Car is still randomly overheating. I notice fan wasn't always turned on when AC is on, and it seemed to be the problem. But now, I'm not really sure that the fan is the root cause, because it's still turned on most of the time. Suggestion to troubleshoot this? TIA Last edited by detraX1; 08-07-2020 at 08:10 AM.. |
