Feedback on xDrive35i N55 Stage 2 FBO

Looking for long term feedback from those who have gone to Stage 2 FBO with their N55 X1.

I'm aware of https://diyautogalaxy.com/bmw-x1-35i...oject-sleeper/ and parodoxical3's build, but are there others who have gone this route?

What are some of the challenges, issues, and things to avoid? For reference, my X1 is currently on MHD Stage 1 ACN91 OTS tune.

TIA!

It will be the same as many many 335xi that are running that setup. I suggest you look there for more info. Really no problems just run the appropriate tune for your fuel and mods.

Thanks! I did have a Stage 2 E90 almost a decade ago, but my focus has been with the S55 over the last 3-4 years. Cobb and JB4 were the dominant tuning options back in those years, and that's about where I stopped paying attention.

I don't have any plans of going beyond Stage 2, so I'm mainly curious about known hardware fitment issues, such as, will a 7.5" FMIC fit okay? or are the aftermarket E9x/F3x N55 HPFP and LPFP options compatible with the E84...

There doesn't seem to be much technical info about these topics, so I'll do some more digging.

I just bought a '15 35i and about to go through the same process. Just threw on XHP Stg 2 and MHD Stg 1. Bought the VRSF FMIC, downpipe and chargepipe and waiting for that to come in before I install and upgrade to MHD 2+. Probably going to stop there so I just went for the 5" FMIC. From what I hear, there's a slight bit of shaving required to get the 7.5" to fit right. Ping VRSF and they'll know for sure. Are you planning on running E85?

Nice build list! Yes, there's a decent amount of plastic trimming involved with a 7" or bigger FMIC. This is true for the E9x chassis, and should be true for the E84. It doesn't seem like anyone has ever confirmed fitment with a 7.5" FMIC on an E84, however, and I'm not at a point where I want to play things safe with a 5" IC unit.

No plans of using ethanol blend at this time, unless I go with Stage 2 turbos, which will be unlikely. My F80 runs on full E85 and 99% methanol, so the X1 will be kept modestly modified.
