This looks really sexy, the wheel style suits the color of your E84

Do you feel your steering a bit heavy with 19x9 ?

Threw these on from my e90 330i winter car just to see how they'd look on the X1 . They are staggered with Bridgestone Driveguards. But have since been replaced with 225/45/18 Proxes 4+.
Staggered 193M wheels.

Good Day my fellow E84 users,

I need your expert advise on what tires to run on my 19x9.5 ET33 squared MRR Deisgn uo8 wheels (photo below). As much as possible no rubs.

Is staggered tires on squared wheels advisable? I've been thinking to run wider tires on the back if it wont cause any problem.

Inner clearance on the front would be 24mm less. Would this be sweet? or do I need to consider a spacer (hopefully not, finger crossed). I will test fit it this weekend.

Thank you in advance!

@Mperformanc3

Rear is no problem but for front it really depends of the tyre your running.

Every tire stretches differently and some tires have a inner sidewall which comes closer to the strut.

I'm running Japan Racing JR28 19x9.5J ET35 and 10.5J ET40.
For front I have 10mm spacers and rear 5mm (final ET front 25 and rear 35)

Even with 10mm spacers I sometimes can hear the front tire rub against the strut when reversing and doing full lock. But the touch is very minimal.

I got 245/35 Michelin Pilot Pa4 in front and 295/30 Dunlop Winter Sport3D rear. The fitment is perfect with stock height and I'd say it's flush with fenders. Ideally I would prefer the front wheels couple of mm inside but with this tire it's not possible.

BTW, if anyone needs Japan Racing wheels in Europe, feel free to PM me and I can get you a really really good deal.

Nice setup! loving the quad pipes!

I guess 255 / 35 will definitely have rubbing issues considering I'm running 8mm spacers? Is 40 series tyres possible on the fronts?

Thank you!

I can't say definitely, but there is a risk yes. In the end it's all about giving it a shot and trying out. Some tyres stretch more/less than others.

With stock height the 40 series profile should be fine, I believe there are many running it. At first I wanted to go for 245/40 and 295/35 R19 but I just had those lower profile tyres sitting in garage.

Thanks, loving those quads indeed. It looks pretty mean with 295 rubber too.

Put on some new winters so that I don't need to run spacers- took a few quick pics.

-stock Msport suspension
-TSW Vale
-18x8.5"
-ET20 offset
-235/45/18 tires (went up from oem 225/45)
(sorry for the sideways shot)

Just got in some KW V3's... so I guess I'll find out if these fit without too much rub.

It will fit
Specs of the wheels you are going to buy is 19x7.5 et32
You have to know your original wheel specs so you can compare, width of the rim and offset is very important, you dont want to buy rims that are going to rub on your strut, or way too out of the fender, for you to have an idea go to this website and check it, it’s very helpful https://www.willtheyfit.com/ plus yours is an xdrive, you can go staggered set up but you will have to know the right specs for the tires that you will put on so you wont wobble on the street/road/fwy, it safe that you have square set up, less thinking, less computation

I see people running 19x9.5 et 35 with spacers but will 18x9.5 et 35 still need spacers to not rub upfront?

Asking because I have a set coming and I want to be able to mount with no issues. I'll also be using 235/40 tires since they're new.

@projectbarnie

The front strut has a incline which favors bigger diameter. Fitting 18x9.5J will have few mm less inner clearance. If you go with tyres which do not have rim protection then you should have more clearance.
My 245/35 R19 tyres also had rim protection. Here is a picture for you guys, this was first fitment where I had 9.5J ET35 + 5mm spacer. You can also see the tyre scrub marks on the strut.
Later fitted with 10mm spacer and been running like this over a year. No issues, all good.

18x9.5J et35, just get 10-12mm and you will be fine. You might also pull it off with 5mm spacer if you go with more stretched 235mm and no rim protection tyre.

@ BMWX1-35i, Here is a another picture. If your hesitating, then go for it. Life is too short guys.

Thank you for the quick response! Is there a brand/vendor that you recommend for spacers?
