For a daily FI driver, it doesn't matter.
I would buy the 91 nonoxy if it was the same price/cheaper due to the water absorbing qualities of corn.

I'm envious of those who have easy access to 93 and E85. All I've got is 91, and the nearest E85 station is three hours away. With a JB4 (with flex fuel wires) on map1, my timing always looks a lot better with a few gallons of ethanol mixed in. I'd run MS109 daily if I could afford it!

Definitely 91 NON which very hard to find in the US.

Car doesn't need 93, and the ethanol dilution of 93 will give you worse gas mileage and maybe power.

Really?
I can't remember the last time I didn't see a 91 non oxy at a gas station in MN.

Cole's notes...
  • BMW can run lower octane. BMW ECU is smart.
  • Consider additive quality usually found in premium grades.
  • As gas prices go up, it's cheaper to use premium.
  • Summary: Buy a Tesla to avoid threads like these.

Worse mileage, yes. Less power? Where are you getting that from?

The car will adjust the fuel trims for the enthanol, and will inherently run more timing and possibly more boost enabled by the higher octane. The octane is the critical number regarding power (and overall knock prevention in general), the ethanol content is irrelevant so long as you're not maxing out the stock fuel system.

Caution, if you run less than 91 octane for a prolonged period of time, you will get a Cel, with an engine running lean code. After that I pretty much just put in 93 octane. I was mixing 93, and 89 to get 91, but sometimes, was just below 91.
