FIXD OBDII
Greetings fellow Bimmers!!
I purchased a device called FIXD and thank God no error codes on scan. However, since I couldn't find a record of battery replacement, I entered the in-service date which is almost 5 years ago. Well, FIXD is flagging me, but when I scanned the battery's resting voltage it shows 12.2. Also (so far), the car starts up just fine. It's never cold in SW Florida so I'm not sure if that's a factor. When I select purchase battery (just to see prices), the software redirects me to Amazon. Any thoughts?

I have a generic OBDII scanner from my last car, I will get one that will read the BMW specific codes at some point. I’m guessing this scanner won’t, so I would rather put money there and throw it in the back, hooking it up when needed.
I generally know when wipers / tires need to be replaced and voltage can be obtained..so it’s not really for me but I see the appeal and the convenience- especially if you are tracking several cars. Not that it really matters much, but by clicking the link they are getting an Amazon affiliate commission when you buy a battery.

I use scangauge II which is very good for gauges in a little rectangle: Speed (corrected), coolant temp, voltage, and mpg.
My resting voltage seems to be approx 12.2 volts, too. As soon as I watched voltage, I noticed it's nearly always charging 14.5 to 14.7. I can charge up with Deltran to where voltage is 13.8 or even 12.7 cruising, and it will charge upon slowing as it should. So, if I don't drive for 3 days, car goes back to charging 14.5 to 14.7 cruising. BMW says battery will charge more when older, but I don't see how it could charge anymore which it's done since new 5.5 years ago. Scangauge says I have a code, but I can't clear it, and BMW said no codes, so scangauge is not a BMW reader just guages. |

I use Torque Pro BT to my devices. Works great. Someday I will man up and buy bimmercode, INPA, Carly and K+DCAN.
I would think batteries would have a date code? Anyway AGM batteries can last a long time if well maintained. Do invest in one of those smartchargers like CTEK. |

Got a ZUS obd2 scanner for free recently.. works well on my car.
https://www.nonda.co/products/smart-...h-monitor-mini Gotta pay shipping though.. I see many complaints about late shipment but mine is fine.. The app looks cool and the code reading is good. Also love the car finding function.. You can try it out, around $9 |
