X1 0-60 mph, 0-100 kph, 1/4 mile, 60-130 mph, 100-200 kph, 1/2 mile results
The amount of people that mod these cars for performance is a lot smaller than other platforms with the same engine but I have had a hard time collecting data on what others are running with their specific mods. Out of the people that do track their cars even fewer race them in a straight line. I am gauging interest here, maybe this will eventually become a sticky.
Format should go as follows: 1.) Engine 2.) Power or weight modifications. No need to add that you tinted your window or added a lip spoiler. 3.) Fuel used 4.) Wheel tire setup 5.) Results and how they are measured. (Track timing, Dragy, VBOX, ect.)

I will start.
1.) N55 35i xDrive 2.) JB4 map 6 running 12 psi flat, BMS intake, ER chargepipe. 3.) 92 octane (US) pump gas. 4.) Stock style 225 19 inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 5.) Dragy was used for the results. So far 0-60 is at 4.73 and the 1/4 mile is 13.19 @ 102 mph.

Turbod,
Seeing those numbers gets me excited! That’s a real fine quarter mile time. I’ve dragged quite a few times at Pacific Raceways and also Bremerton Raceways and those numbers would blow away many of the “sports cars” I’ve seen out there. I don’t have the X1 setup the way I want it for the track yet, But now that I think about it maybe I should run it stock first to get a baseline. My tires suck, wheels need improvement. Looks like it wouldn’t be super hard to get into the 12’s. Awesome, Thanks!

I've really run into this doing HPDE. On fairly warm or hot days I start seeing a very noticeable drop off in performance around 2/3 of the way through a 20 minute session.

1.) N55 35i xDrive
2.) JB4 map 6 running 16 psi flat, BMS intake, ER chargepipe, VRSF 7 inch intercooler. 3.) E20 fuel. 4.) Stock style 225 19 inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 5.) Dragy was used for the results but this was at the track. Boost was pretty under target in the first two gears and E20 wasn't quite enough octane for 16psi when IATs were hitting 120-130. I will be back with methanol injection which should up the trap speed. I will see if I can find a way to get boost closer to target in first and second. So far 0-60 is at 4.74 and the 1/4 mile is 12.94 @ 106 mph.

Thanks for posting this. I'd suppose getting that 60' down to 1.7 would put that ET at about 12.6-ish. What sort of timing were you seeing on that pass? Also, launch technique and shift points? Just curious in case I ever decide to head to the drag strip.

To launch I put the car into manual mode in first gear, foot hard on the brake, floored the accelerator pedal for about 1-2 seconds, then released the brake. My ET suffered since boost wouldn't hit target until later gears and my trap was inconsistent because of timing pulls up top. 104-107mph. I was shifting the car at 6,000rpm. I assume because I still have the stock cat that it is the reason the car holds more boost up top than my 335i did. One last thing I will note. Although the Dragy is very accurate it was four tenths of a second off on my 60 foot. The track slip shows a 1.86 second 60 foot for this run.

You definitely left some mph on the table with just around 5 degrees of timing for the back half of the run. It'll be interesting to see how much the addition of meth (read: maxing out the timing) will add to your trap. Maybe 110+ ?
Also, it's becoming increasingly clear to me that I've got to get myself a Dragy! |

On my 335i with the stock turbo I was able to trap 113mph. I think the X1 on the stock turbo could do 111mph or so. The biggest limitation would be the HPFP. I didn't see very noticeable gains with 100 octane race fuel which is unfortunate since it is less oxygenated than ethanol.

(0-60 was 4.63 (4.35 w/ 1ft rollout) but slope was -1.54. Guess my track isn't quite as flat as it seems) Recently finished some spring maintenance (transmission fluid and pan, transfer case fluid) and now with the summer tires/wheels back on and my new Dragy, thought I'd see where the car stands. Pretty happy with the results. |

Dragy 1/4 mile = 12.43 @ 109.36 0-60 = 4.15 (3.95 with 1' rollout) About two weeks ago I finally hit 100K miles. To celebrate, I was able to take advantage of some very cool and dry weather (DA was -1000 ft) to see what effect it (and the added octane from the Boostane) would yield. I can now say I've got a sub-4 second 0-60 and mid-12 second 1/4 mile car. Not too shabby for the ol' beast! |

Thanks! I guess I was spinning some, but I didn't notice the traction control light go off. It was 40F ambient, so the PS4S tires were for sure outside their comfort zone. I wanted to get one last run in on my summer setup before putting the winters on. Definitely a bit of a buck on the 1-2 shift.
Did you ever install the PS2 and methanol? Someone posted on Dragtimes an N55 X1 with a PS2, WMI, and upgraded HPFP that ran 11.9@117. I'd have figured that setup would be worth deep in the 11s and north of 120. |

Honestly, I bought the Audi TTRS and let the girlfriend drive my X1. I will see if I can get it sorted out next season. Right now it is spooling SUPER slow, the methanol issue, and it is breaking up on launch. I'd be willing to say it's slower than before the turbo and methanol were installed.

Well, when you're able to get your X1 dialed in, it will be very interesting to see what it's upper limits are. Until then, I guess you'll just have to somehow get by with the tuned TTRS haha.

X1 1/4 mile times
Hey Guys, First time posting here but have been lurking since I got my X1 about 3 years ago. Glad to see that there is at least a few members here interested in making these things fast and pushing the E84 platform forward! My car/timeslip is the recent one posted on Dragtimes, which I believe is currently the fastest documented timeslip. I'm still working on sorting out some issues with the launch (think it is an MHD or xHP setting that needs to adjusting) as I couldn't get the car to launch any harder than a 1.85 60'. I was cutting consistent 1.70's with the stock turbo and jb4 before all of the upgrades...so it definitely has potential to go deeper 11's.

Cool cool, here is the url from the log on that pass.
https://datazap.me/u/dtayse23/1192-1...=4-15-21-22-23 As you can see in the log, I brake boosted the launch but only left the line with about 4psi, hence why the 60' sucks. I'm not sure if that's something that I need to sort out on MHD or if the RPM can be raised on the torque convertor through xHP. Going to play around with that in the Spring when the track reopens. Also, the tune that I was running on the pass is setup for E30 fuel, but I was only running about E20 on the pass, so I have some timing corrections taking place that are never there when E30+ is in the tank. My goal in the Spring is to upgrade the LPFP, run E50 fuel and get the launch sorted out. Hoping to go 11.50 or lower at 120+mph |
