Autocrossed an x2 At the BMW ultimate drive

I was really disappointed . It was the Xdrive 2.8 m package, The steering is numb, the body lean is horrible. It made me really glad to get back in my M sport X2.8 drive .

Which generation of X1 do you currently own? The first generation is a lot better than the second and the X2.

Yep, no comparison between the E84 and the F48/F39 X1/X2.

I track mine several times a year. It may have some body lean (what do you expect with more ground clearance and a higher center of gravity), but while I don't hesitate to track it I would not even consider doing so with the new X1 or X2.

The new design may be what the general public wants (more SUV bias), but I'll take the E84 any day.

Got a loaner (X1) about two weeks ago and although the interior has more features and space it handled like a really tall newer 3 series. E84 with M sport s drive kills it in performance and fun. Only new X1 or X2 I would consider would have to have M Sport suspension. Damm thing leaned a lot and just wasn’t even in the same ballpark, it was smoother and the road bumps were isolated but handling no way it compared.

Yes mine is an e84. M sport package. When I first drove it it reminded me of an AWD four door m- coupe. I came from an e92 m3 with a 6MT and even tho I miss the 6mt this car is a blast to drive.

This car will become a classic....mark my words.

In 20 years...you'll be able to say you had the original X1.
People will say WOW!

X1 s28i M sport is unbelievable car, even at track.

I really like the low end torque that just quirts car off line.

I had to get Michelin pS4S in 255/35r18 on rear to get traction.

I've won Auto-X with a 1980 Scirroco with front wheel drive that was good in snow, and would lift inside rear wheel maybe 5 inches off ground, so that's what you call lean.

I associate front wheel drive with econobox, and it's not for me.

I also had front wheel drive Dodge Stratus.

Still a no, dog!

Good to know. I’ll get a chance to track mine in a few weeks.

Had my share of FWD too. 3 gti,s a Ford Fiesta S , original body. They definitely have their limitations
