*** Apple iPhone 6 WILL NOT pair to X1!
I have 2 iPhone 6's (1 jailbroken and 1 not).
Neither will pair successfully to a 2014 X1 35i (both are paired to a 2012 X3 with no issues) . The strange thing is that I get as far as entering the BT codes on both the car and the phone, then the iDrive screen just shows "connecting", but eventually times out. Another strange thing is that even though there are no stored phones in the system, I do have the cell signal strength show up on the iDrive screen. I've updated to the latest software (from http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/con...re_update.html), but still no luck. Called the BMW genius line, they couldn't help either! Any ideas? |

Any friends with a 6 running the same version of iOS that you could try paring?

Mine would connect but not actually make a call for the first couple of weeks after I'd gotten it back in Sept. One of the early iOS8 updates seemed to take care of that issue, which was also present in my mom's F10 with her 6.
Where in VA?

On the non-jailbroken phone, I can actually route the audio to the car. The phone shows that it's connected, even though the car does not list it. Could it be that I have a defective Bluetooth module in the car? |

My wife's 6+ and my 5 work just fine. Not sure what the issue would be!

Have you tried deleting the Bluetooth profiles from both the phone and the car before attempting to pair them again? If you don't, sometimes it will try to connect using the old profile.

Well I did from the phone, but there are no profiles created in the car - car shows no phones paired!

Apple iPhone 6 WILL NOT pair to X1
Hello,
I had the same problem when I first paired iPhone 6 with the car. I had to clear all other phones from the car but with no luck. Finally I have done a hard reset of CIC (push for about 25 seconds the controller). It worked for me, but not shure if that was the problem or not. Good luck! |

Does anyone here have an issue with their iPhone 6 being plugged in the the usb right in front of the controller. I can play music fine but I have to use the iPhone to control songs or the steering wheel to play the next song. I can't select a song with the idrive controller. I can see the playlist and scroll through it, it just doesn't play when I click down on idrive. Weird thing is that it sometimes works flawlessly. Most of time it doesn't.

I think it might be a problem with the car. Ours works great with every iphone ever made including 6+. I think trying it with any iphone or perhaps any kind of phone and see if it works. Then you'll know for sure.

I'm leaning towards that thought myself. I'm trying to find a non-iPhone to try to pair.
What's odd is that although the car does not show any phones paired, I do see the cell signal strength bars in the NAV. I can even make calls and hear the audio from the car speakers. |
