x1 2014 30k Miles Rough Idle

Hi all,

2014 30k miles, my wife's x1 started idling rough. While sitting at a light I can feel it under my butt. Engine feels like its running rough as well.

Anyone else run into this?
Spark Plugs?
Engine Coils?
Vacuum?

Thanks

I'd look at the simple things first like bad gas, MAF, air intake piping connection and check for codes.

Hi Frietz, sometimes a tankful of compromised gasolene can cause erratic idling behaviour. MAF is your Mass Air Flow sensor that is located just upstream of your air intake filter. It can get dirty overtime causing to misread the flow rate. The deviation may not be high enough to trigger error codes as the ECU will try to compensate. Other symptoms are reduced gas mileage.
As for Codes, I am referring to OBDII codes. You can easily retrieve it via OBDII code reader devices. Or if you want to go deep, then get BMW code readers like INPA will help provide further insights.

Just suggesting these few cursory checks prior to escalating to deeper assessments.
