Funny that other people comment on the annoying rocker panel. It's literally the only thing I don't like about my X1. Everything else is fantastic though. I like it better than my old 2011 135i.

I’ve got a 35i with the sport line package(so I’ve got the paddle shifters and sport seats) and I’ve been pretty happy with it. It’s quick, steering is decent, good usable space. I would have much preferred the M Sport package but just not a very common car and I got my car for a good deal.

I’m looking forward to some mods though like xhp trans tune, better tires, and probably the Bilstein B12 kit.

Resurrecting this thread...

honestly the sport and x line don't look too bad, especially if you color-match the bumpers.

My 2013 X1 N55 with Ultimate package is the closest I've gotten to that old Z3 feel with only minor upgrades. This car is a true sleeper.
It KBBs out at 13k with only 50k on it. I'd pay much more than that for the fun we've had together and I can still fit two 29er mountain bikes in the back without having to defile it with roof racks.
What minor upgrades have you done?

If you look around for the old 335i information you will find someone explaining how to load it yourself. It just isn't worth the time to get it vs buying XHP.

Any thoughts on a PE mod for the old X1? I did it on my e92. Love it. Could be a bit more, but let's it out when it counts

I'm not sure one is possible. From what I recall, someone cut the muffler open and it is not the same as, say, a 135.

You can get it on line and from some BMW Coding Forums...I had a guy code everything for my daughters X1 35i MSport ultimate for me. It was simple and the flash is nice.

If you can find a 135i M Performance Exhaust, that would fit right up.

For the PE mod, I don't remember where I got this picture of the X1 exhaust cut, but I made a graphic of what I could be doing to make it sound a bit better.

Can you cite where the 135 oem exhaust bolts up? I seem to remember a thread where someone tried and it didn't fit. Although, maybe that was an aftermarket system for the 135. It's been a while.

Just swapped out my summer set for winter. Going from 225/255 19"s to 205 17". They look like Pizza cutters mixed with a concave cake. Oh well. Maybe some 20mm spacers are in my future.

I took MHD up on their Black Friday discount. Just in time for winter. Sigh. Flashed it anyway to see how it feels and compares to my e92 Cobb AP3. Apples to oranges I know given the tire swap. But with the WiFi adapter, 5 mins maybe for the initial flash to stage 1.

The E82 rear muffler section will not fit the E84. I bought an E82 N55 muffler because the insides look just like the diagram above. The pipe leading to the muffler does not fit at all, so I cut the muffler off and adapted it to the E84 pipe. The tips are slightly mis-aligned due to the shape differences of the bumpers between the cars, but with the slip-on tips you can adjust it a bit. Now my car sounds like an N55 E82 though, so I'm happy

edit: here's my thread from many moons ago so you can see what the inside of the E82 N55 muffler looks like

I'm beginning to think that a HFDP would be more predictable. Low drone is the goal in my case. I love to tinker, but...

The PE mod on my e92 is fantastic. But there was way more research (trial/error) from multiple forum members. And the guys from mod bargain really spells it out for those who watch the video. Cut here, Pipe sizing and replace all insulation to avoid drone. This is a different animal. Sigh

My setup is, catless downpipe, secondary cat delete, stock resonator, and E82 N55 muffler and I have zero drone. I tinkered with E82 exhaust setups so much that I was confident I'd be happy. I HATE drone.

Update: living in the northern portion of the Midwest, we are in a period of cold with lots of snow. The winter set up with AWD is a god send. The winter tires really helped on my RWD 335i, but this is another animal. So glad I picked this up. utility with performance potential. I am actually thinking about selling my coupe in the spring.

Wondering what spacers that is running? It's lowered for sure.

Hey, Glad to see another person from our area.

I saw you were talking re: raynauds and steering wheels. You can retrofit a heated steering wheel into your X1. There are a few options. I did an F10 M5 steering wheel, but didn't transfer the steering wheel controls (Idc about buttons on wheel).

another option is to swap an E90/E84 heated steering wheel and do this:
https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1596605

Example of F series wheel:

E90 version of DIY:
https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1528395

On the E84, you'll just need any e90/e84 heated steering wheel clock spring (don't need new switches), a button (can be oem or universal, i went universal), run 1 power wire from fuse box, and you'll need the heated steering wheel w/module.

With that, follow the e90 guide, same setup.

Just ran into this thread.
Mine is a 2015 35i MSport in Le Mans Blue. Bought it new in 2015, it has 42k miles on it so far. Loving it so far. Changed to non-run flats (Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4+) after the original paws wore out, had to replace the washer fluid reservoir (it cracked ??) and its got a bit of road rash on the lower front bumper, but other than that its been great. Dealer keeps after me to sell it back to them and get a newer 28i sDrive model and I keep telling them I have zero interest in a 4 banger sDrive car.
