Oil in engine cover...

Re: 2013. X1. E84. 82k

I know I have a leak coming from my valve cover. The other day I removed my engine cover and oil leaked out of the what I believe is a vacuum reservoir. Only one hose is attached to it, the other is plugged. I have the electrically activated turbo...

Soooo....I guess this means my vacuum pump has an internal leak and that I should replace it when I replace the valve cover???

No codes....car runs well....Thanks.

There are two lines coming out of your engine cover. One line goes to your vacuum pump. The other either is capped off if you use an electronic wastegate (newer n20). Or....that line goes to the pneumatic wastegate (older N20 engine). I don't know when the switch occurred. I think it's mid MY2013 but could be wrong. This is the source of oil getting sucked into that engine cover reservoir due to wastegate blow by.
