Figured it out- those little bulbs are coded to the side markers. Just coded side markers as DRL and customization to other and it’s working...but one of my led control modules is dead hahaha

Coding done- no errors, no flickering- just need a new led module for one side and I’ll finally get these installed

Got new LED module and DRL’s are working fine but now my HID’s flicker for a second then shut off...they’re both doing it at the same time so I have a feeling this is a coding issue, I’ll have to take a look later, raining on/off all day today

Did you turn off voltage monitoring on low and high beam?

I believe I did but I want to double check- that’s what my first thought was. Just haven’t had a chance to check yet

Voltage monitoring for low and hi beams was already coded off. Here’s a quick vid switching back and forth from on/parking lights/off, you can see they either flicker and turn on, or flicker and die. I’m debating just picking up a set of new bulbs and seeing if that’s the problem. Not sure if it’d be bad bulbs or ballasts, or both?

I don't know about your lights, but mine had a 22000uf capacitor for low beam in the housing. One of them went bad and it did exactly that, until I replaced it.
HID pull a lot of current for a short time at startup and if it cannot get what is required then it will flicker and not startup.

Where was it on yours? Just wired inline with the low beam wiring?

Photo of cap (not very helpful):

This is the circuit that you need to add a Cap and protect your car electronics against the cap discharging when you switch off the lights.

Or you need to add a relay harness.

Yup, no capacitor on mine. I picked up a set of LED’s and will just wire those in and bypass the HID’s altogether

While I'm waiting for those to come in, I wired up the xenons and tested them, and all is well- bi-xenon functions fine, shutters kick in when hi-beam is engaged, blinkers work. I haven't done any coding yet, which will be done once the modules come in and I can test the angel eyes.
Hi mate
I’ve purchased headlights from Alibaba and after installation angeleye brows & bi-xenon is working perfectly fine.
Now facing the problem, I’ve got DRL module which is connected DRL angel eyes but I don’t know yet how to code it to make my DRL works in my BMW X1 2011model Do you have any idea?

Can you please help me to explain coding, as I’m facing the issue in which I can’t able to turn on DRL angeleyes I guess it has to code because my factory fitted light was having tiny lamps as DRL angel eyes but these china made headlights has LED DRL fixed with module. Sorry for my English as I’m not tech savvy but your help will be highly appreciated

Sorry, I'm not over here much since I sold my X1. Can you take a pic of the lights you have, or send the link to the ad? Are they OEM Valeo housings or aftermarket?

Hi.

I'm not able to trawl through all the post on here, search function is not great normally on forums.

Ok my cuz has an X1 2013. I'm looking to install 100w 5000k hid kit for him. His car doesn't come with projectors, so he will be ordering a set of those units.

I understand that the fuse box in not present around the engine bay area. What I want to know, is there a gap/hole in the engine bay area to connect the tap circuit to the fuse box inside the car? (below glovebox).

Anything else I should be aware of. I have install hid many times, just not on a car with the fuse box inside the car and I don't have access to the car to look as we live 120miles apart.

PS: A lot of you guys are having a lot of coding or problems because a relay harness isn't install. The relay will solve the flicker issue or on for 1 sec then off. The relay will need to be connected to the positive terminal in the car, i.e battery but that is in the boot; or add a circuit to the fuse box - that is inside the car! Hence my original question.

# I think if there is no hole to feed a wire from the engine bay area into the fuse box then I probably have to drill a small hole to do so.

# Now I know that there is a jumper start positive terminal in the engine bay I would be soldering the relay positive wire to that, it should work. I will update when I actually get around to doing it. My cuz first have to buy the projector headlight units and fit that in.

1) Buy the DEPO headlights.
2) install halogen bulbs from you current headlights.

This will give you the same as you have now except your park light will now be on the angle eyes.

Then you can change things in steps
1) Replace low beam with xeon
2) Move DRL to angle eyes (coding)

Also, I did a lot of testing by just moving the cable from the installed lights to the new lights without actually installing them. The cables are long enough.
I know this thread is old but I purchased a set of the same exact ones u had I'm going to run halogen bulbs my question is can I code the DRL to be on without the low beam ?

I coded my DRL to the angel eyes (the tiny bulb on the halogen originals)
Once that worked I swapped in the new headlights which then use the actual angel eyes on the new headlights
