What OEM wheels fit X1?
I have tried searching for this but cannot seem to get a straight answer, so apologies if i'm a bit lost. Looks like we will own an X1 next week and I need a set of winters for the short term.
Lots and lots on used marketplaces but I have no idea what model wheels work on the X1. Most deals seem to be for E60 series beemers but from what i can tell the offset is quite different. Will this really be an issue? if so what models have the closest offset match? I assume bolt pattern is the same for everything these past 15 or so years? Thanks in advance. |

The 5 series (and I believe the 7...so probably the 6 as well) have historically used a different hub bore vs. the 3 series-based cars. Assume that's still the case now.
That can be cured with a hub-centric ring without issue. You didn't mention which engine you'd have...as the size of your brakes may also be a factor. |

E9x, E82, F30, F32, X3 and E46 wheels should all fit as long as the wheel is 17" or larger in diameter. The closest to offset match is really all of the above. BMW keeps their wheel set ups pretty well the same throughout the fleet.

Thanks.
Sorry to be so dumb but I have been in Alfas and Saabs all my life so this BMW mumbo jumbo is hard to fathom. i have my eye on a set of 205/55's. Stock is 225/50 so sidewall is near identical. Am i ok or will BMW electro nannies go all silly on me? Wheels are from 2011 3-series. |

I got a slow leak on my stock 18" Conti SSR's with M-sport wheels. Installed my 17" M sport wheels from my e91 until I could get replacement tires.
Wheels fit fine, tire size from the e91 was about 1" diameter smaller (speedo off) but TPMS didn't even notice.

I am more concerned about contact patch. 205 is quite a bit narrower than 225 so will the various ESP and what not nannies go all crazy 'cos they disapprove?

Canadian cars don't have tpms. It's wheel speed sensor that tells you if you have a flat. A 205/55 on an 8" wheel will be too stretched. The out going X3 was built off the 3er platform as well as the X1

I run style 351 from my m sport f10 550i. The offset may be a tad higher in the rear but its not too bad. The following link is pretty handy as to what type of oem wheels fit on our X1

I used 3 websites on my search for new rims.
The BMW style website already mentioned. http://www.willtheyfit.com/ Euh, will the new wheels fit, you get a answer to that questions. http://www.leebmann24.de/ Shop with OEM parts, you get a idea for what it out there, ET values and stuff to compare with the X1 stuff. Note, you could use spacers to up the ET value (or just bring out the rim to the out side). xdrive loves same setup on front and rear, I ordered 2 time the front rims set. I'm running the M performance 20" (8J with 225 tires) from the 3 series. (I have 20mm spacers at the rear just for optical purposes) 21" 8,5J from the 7 series wouldn't work. The next issue is with the wheel fitting over the brake calipers. |
