Clink/Clunk When Shifting into Reverse
Hi All,
I noticed that my x1 produce a clink or clunk at the rear when I shift the gear from P to R. It's more pronounced if I am on an incline. Anyone experienced this? Is this normal? |

When you let off the brakes? If so, pad shift. Pretty common.

The sound you're hearing is the lock-pin for the transmission's park gear unlocking.
First pulling the parking brake up and using neutral to let the parking brake catch the weight of the car, and THEN shifting to park will eliminate this clunk almost entirely. |
