bad smell from vents X1 2014

Hi, I am bit confused on the location of filters( i watched several youtube videos) and followed 1 to replace cabin air filter which is located outside under the hood. It's a long filter.
But since the smell is still bad, i saw a video where a mechanic replaced 2 cabin air filters which are located inside under the glovebox on passenger side.

Does X1 28i 2014 have these inside-cabin-filters and do i need to replace them to get rid of smell?

I took the car to dealership and they did Frigi-Fresh thing but no difference in smell. Pls help

Apparently some have had success with spraying Lysol on the evaporator. If you remove the cabin filter that is located under the hood at the base of the windscreen, you can see the blower motor. I believe the evaporator is located under the blower motor. I have not tried this btw.

Yes, the fan is still drawing air over the evaporator, even with the a/c off, which is likely where the mildew smell is coming from. Let me know how it goes!

Interesting. My brothes says my car smells like Crayons. (He's the only one with kids and there are never crayons in the car). I'm going to try this.
