Low Coolant warning

I noticed today that I have a low coolant warning on my X1.

Does anyone know if I can just use water to get it to a minimum level until I can get some BMW coolant?

My understanding is that you do a 50/50 mix of coolant and water normally, so I expect this would be OK.

No problem adding DISTILLED water before the freezing temperatures hit.

When I picked up X1 s28i, the water marker didn't float.

Dealer poured maybe a pint of their coolant.

A year later marker wasn't floating, and poured a pint of distilled water.

Now 3 years later, still floating so I guess it had to burp some air.

Stop by a BMW dealer and they will top it off (with 50/50 mixture) for free. Mine needs to be topped off once every couple of years or so.
