2015 BMW X1 28i 11000 miles $22,500 worth it?

Hey wanted to see if y'all had some feedback for me. I was looking into purchasing a used 2015 BMW X1 28i with the ultimate package and the cold weather package.

It has 11,000 miles on it and is selling for $22,500. That price is a little higher then what KBB has for the retail value? Wanted to know if you think the the price is appropriate?

I am coming from only driving Honda's in the past but the drive on this X1 one is really nice, and wanted to know if anyone has had any maintenance issues. I know the cost will be more for the BMW but from what i have seen overall the X1 has less issues then other BMW's.

Thanks Alot!

Two years ago I spent more on a 2013 X1 but it is a 35i with a bunch of options. A lot of times you can see on the carfax how long the dealer has had the car. The longer they have had it the more likely they are to reduce the price to get it sold. If you're not stuck on that car then I would go drive a 35i. Personally a fan of the Msport too.

The 35i would be nice, i hear its a great drive. Its a little above KBB but don't think there are many X1's for sale with mileage this low.

Wow 11k miles, that's awesome. As Turbod mentioned, you should check and see how long the dealer has had the car. Anything over 20-30 days and you have a lot more leverage. The E84 X1 is not a high demand car and you should be able to negotiate them down. I would hit them at $20k and go from there.

Very low miles, clean car fax? Xdrive? I really prefer the Msport

I would offer 20k. You have the leverage. They will meet you somewhere in the middle. Alot of 2015 X1 lease returns out there right now...143k on mine and never a problem!

Having just got what I consider a steal of a well maintained 2013 X1 for shy of $11K with 100K miles I think that sounds like an amazing one.

Regarding maintenance I must admit to being concerned about hearing worrying things about the N20 engines and timing (or oil) belts going boom and ruining the engine. Is it a case of forum-paranoia or is there a real concern there?

I would wait and find a 35i like the others have mentioned, or find one with more miles and cheaper price. I’ve seen similar cars with around 40-50k miles around me go for $11-13k, I got my msport 35i with everything included for $18k

There's nothing wrong with the 28i! I find mine to be pretty quick. It's all relative.

11k is pretty low miles. Yeah, the price is probably high, but isn't that just a given at the dealer? Anyway, if you like it, good luck with the negotiating. Isn't 40% off of MSRP for a 3 year old car kind of expected? I mean, it's not a crazy-high price, is it?

I bought my 28i with low miles and a similarly high price, but it was still a fraction of the MSRP, so hard to get too worked up over it. (I figure even with only the M-sport and pano roof as options, it still was $36K+ MSRP.)

Yeah, getting something with 40k miles for, say, $17k (the cheapest I see around here with a quick search) sounds like a better deal, but then again, it has more mileage. You're going to pay more for less mileage.

I've had my car for more than 2 years now, and I'm still not at 40k miles! I guess it's worth it to me to pay a bit extra to have a newer car, but it's all relative. *shrug*

My X1 was built in March of 2014 and I purchased it in June of 2017 for 40% off of the MSRP with 29,000 miles on it. With a tune, intake, and intercooler it is running high 12's in the quarter mile.

MSRP: $50,000
Purchase Price: $29,400

We love my wife's '15 we bought 1.5 years ago with 55K miles on it - a lease return. It's around 65K miles now and we haven't had any issues with it at all.

$22K for an 11K mile X1 doesn't sound terribly high to me, that's really low mileage. I'd offer less but if they won't budge I'd go for it if I liked the vehicle.

Haven't seen an update on if the OP bought it, but given that his info now shows what he drives as a 2015 BMW X1 I'm guessing so.

Hey guys sorry about the delay in replying, i was on leave. I should be getting the car this Saturday and have a week to drive it to make up my mind. Considering how low the mileage was i didn't think i would be able to find another with such little miles.

I'll drive it for a week and see if i should go for the 35i or not. But from what it seems like most people have not had any maintenance issues with their car, which is a plus!

X28i with the modern zf8 is a nice drive. Fast shifting that optimises the n20 powerplant. 35i n55 engine has its share of issues too. Just enjoy em.
Also you need to option the shit out of this car. I cringe each time I see late model BMWs with halogen lights, no idrive, leather etc.

I recently purchased a 2015 X1 28i with 21K miles for about the same price. There was nothing comparable available with those low miles in the area, so I grabbed it. I’m not a gear head, I just love to drive a beautiful and well made car. Especially if it’s fast! Mine is certified pre-owned and worth the little bit extra to me.

On haggling, here in the Boston MA area the experience I and others have been having is that dealers are negotiating less and less, and claim their “best price” is on-line. I had one who outright refused to make any modifications in the price (which frustrated the hell out of me and I walked away). Don’t assume they will meet you in the middle.

I bought my loaded 2015 x35i M Sport for $30K ~18mos ago with sub-20K miles from a non-BMW dealer in Chantilly, VA.

I would say overpriced, yes.

So I end up getting the car today, has anyone been able to connect to the bmw connected app.

I have been unable to add the car after creating the account. It keeps bringing up an error.

I've had a couple of instances recently where I shut it down as it was taking forever to open, but it has worked fine for me over the last 4-5 days.

The car probably has the old 2G combox that has been deactivated. Mine is the same. You can use the connected drive for some stuff, but you won't be able to add it because BMW can't talk to the car anymore.

You can purchase/activate a new LTE Combox for more money than it is worth.
