Headlights on my 2015 X125d have gone a bit crazy.
The system info tells me both headlights have failed.
When the switch is “on” “sides” or “auto” no headlights.
When I turn the switch to “off” the headlights come on. Manageable, but the lights switch being off means my dash lights are off, Speedo etc.
Any ideas for routine things to check myself?
Thanks 😊

Hi Catticus,

1) is there a specific fault code(s)?
2) are your headlights HID or halogen?
3) has any kind of modification or work been done to your electrical system?

I would start by checking all of your fuses. If the issue is there, it is very easy and cheap to diagnose and fix.

Sometimes the wiring in the headlights gets messed up over time from moisture. The old bmw headlight wiring was poorly made and would Crack and short.

Just a guess, otherwise check connectors for water intrusion or corrosion

Thanks. I did wonder if it was because of this crazy wet weather

No it’s just saying left and right dipped beam failed.
They’re halogen.
How do I check the fuses? Shall I just replace the ones for lighting?
And no I’ve never done any mods. Only the odd sticker or grill cover 😅
