Jerky ride !

Hi !

My X1 starts to hack after a few minutes of driving. It's no problem when I accelerate and the car does not feel powerless.

If I put automatic box on neutral when driving, it continues to hack. My first thought was something with the EGR valve or other that has to do with the air supply to the engine.

Why is my X1 jerky? Transmission or something with distribution box? If I drive in normal highway speed it disappears after a while🤔

Alje...Sweden 🙏

UH, kilometers are divided by 1.6, so 125, 000 miles.

I have a x1s28i which is 2.0 liter turbo gas.

I also have a Innova Toyota diesel in Indonesia, and It need fuel filter at 10000 kilometers.

Any dirt floats in diesel, but falls to bottom in gas, so diesel filters can get trashed from one dirty fuel fillup.

Just a thought, have you tried the thottle reset procedure?

1) Turn the car on position 1, no foot on brake, just so the lights on the dash and everything turn on, engine not on
2) Floor the throttle and hold for 1 minute. Use a timer
3) Keep the throttle on the floor and turn off the car
4) Release the throttle and wait at least 2 minutes. Use a timer and be patient

During the 2 minutes you should feel or hear some kinds of mechanical sound. That will let you know its being performed.

Turn the car on and go for a drive of at least 10 minutes.

Hope this helps.

Hi, here I am again . As I told before filter exchange solved it. Now it haves started to feel as before again. May it be so that the filter gets dirty very quickly as I refuel the car with low level...? Is it easier to get the tank cleaned or just refuel before it gets too low level?

/Janne

Sometimes diesel gets really dirty from one tank, since a station could be contaminated.

I'd take filter off, and blow backwards to save expensive filter, and put back on if looks fairly clean.

Taking tank off to clean could be $500+, so several more filters should be better.

That one might could be reused until you get some out.

It must not be over whelming or even a new filter wouldn't fix.

It's not necessary you refilling your car at low level, but service station tank at low level with dirt in tanks.

I did same thing to myself from own big service station tank when I was fuel distributor.
